Dorothy "Dot" Smith

Dorothy "Dot" Smith, age 92, of Hot Springs Village, died Sunday, August 25, 2013. She was born on July 16, 1921, in Angleton, Texas, the oldest of four children born to Leonard and Violet Pattillo. On January 18, 1944, she was married to Ralph Smith. After moving from the Dallas area in 1979, she enjoyed living at Hot Springs Village. In her earlier years here, she loved playing golf, being outdoors and just enjoying nature. She always enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are her husband, Ralph Smith of Hot Springs Village; three children and their spouses, Ron and Kay Smith of Wylie, Texas, Linda and Jack Gardner of Glenwood and David and Betty Smith of Little Elm, Texas; five grandchildren and their spouses, Chad and Mary Gardner, Joel Smith, Amanda Smith, Lauren and Lindi Smith and Natalie Smith; three great-grandchildren, Brooke, Trey and Parker Gardner; and her nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 30, 2013, in the Church of Christ at 112 Mockingbird Lane, Hot Springs with Ray Anderson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church of Christ, 112 Mockingbird Lane, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71913.
