Imogene Miller

Imogene Miller, 93, entered into her heavenly home in the early evening hours of March 29, 2020. Imogene was born February 23, 1927 to Beulah McTigrit Rowe and Charles (Charlie Boy) Rowe in Clinton, Texas (now Galena Park) in Harris County, Texas. Beulah and Charlie Boy moved back to Garland County when Imogene was a few months old and entered into the dairy business on Amity Road. Imogene attended Mt. Olive School, a one room school house from first through eighth grades. Imogene then attended Lakeside and graduated from Lakeside High School in the class of 1944. Imogene was saved at the age of 12 years old and baptized at Lake Hamilton Baptist Church. Her favorite verses in the Bible were Romans 10:9-10 which says "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart, man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." After graduating from high school, Imogene began working at Western Union and attended Training School in Springfield, Missouri. After working in the Western Union offices in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Lindon, Louisiana, she returned to work in Hot Springs. She was working at the downtown office when she met her future husband and lifelong love, Paul Miller. Imogene married Paul on June 15, 1947 and together enjoyed 72 years of joyful marital union. Imogene and Paul were blessed with three children, Paul Timothy, Karen Jean, and Michael Alan. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Timothy; her son-in-law, Thomas Norton, Sr.; and most recently her husband, Paul. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Norton; her son Alan and her daughter-in-law Caroline Miller; seven granddaughters, Marcie Newberry (Stephen), Sarah Saragusa (Jason), Elisabeth Flowers (Joe Ray), Hayley Pugh (Drew), Rebekah Ball (Nathan), Melissa Bogard (Kyle) and Angela Hibbs (Toby). She is also survived by eleven precious great-grandchildren, Asher Newberry, Evan Saragusa, Ethan Saragusa, Hudson Saragusa, Ben Saragusa, Weston Flowers, Hunter Flowers, Winry Pugh, Noah Ball, Miriam Ball and Hannah Ball; and her first cousin, Betty Lou Rowe Burrows. A private graveside service will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. A graveside message will be delivered by Rev. Horace Gray. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Stephen Newberry, Jason Saragusa, Joe Ray Flowers, Drew Pugh, Nathan Ball, Kyle Bogard, and Toby Hibbs. A memorial service will be announced at a later date at Lakeshore Heights Baptist Church, 1420 Lakeshore Drive, Hot Springs, Arkansas. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
