James Jefferson

James Earl Jefferson, age 79, of Paron passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021. James was born in Little Rock to the late Odus and Joyce (Graves) Jefferson on July 3, 1942. He graduated from Paron High School and went to work for the Cooperative Extension Service at the University of Arkansas. He enlisted in the Army and after proudly serving in the Vietnam War, we returned to work at the Cooperative Extension Service where he met the love of his life, Aleta. They were married in 1972. In November of 2006, he was presented with a beautiful “Quilt of Valor” by the Paron Heritage Skills Club. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his in-law’s, Muncie, and Eva Jones of Jacksonville; and sister, Ann McDonald of Paron.

Left to cherish is memory are his loving wife of forty-nine years, Aleta Jefferson; faithful sidekick, Stardust Milkeyway; brother, David (Pat) Jefferson; brother-in-law, Danny McDonald; nieces, Dana (David) Waters, Dee (Phillip) Forbush and Jana Southerland all of Paron. Other survivors include great nieces, Michaela (Jase) Piker and Allie Southerland of Paron; great nephews, Keith (Lindsy) Waters of Perryville, Drew (Madison) Waters of Malvern, Cole (Hartly) Southerland of Rogers; great great nieces and nephews, Annie Waters, Eli Waters, Devyn Piker, Calvin Waters and Tesa Waters.

Graveside funeral services will be 10:00am, Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Cold Springs Cemetery in Paron.
