Joy Fern Turner, age 88, of Lodi, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021.

She was born on February 15, 1933, in Daisy, the daughter of Teabie Layton Tedder and Myrtle Jane Whisenhunt Tedder. On October 21, 1948, she was married to Merle Turner who preceded her in death on August 5, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Billy Tedder, Odean Tedder, Eugene Tedder, Freddy Tedder and Rex Tedder; and one sister, Irene Fraser.

She retired from the United States Postal Service, after working for over twenty years as a mail carrier and was a member of the Lodi Freewill Baptist Church. She always enjoyed going out to eat but will forever be remembered most fondly for her love to go shopping, particularly her QVC channel. Joy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who loved her family with all her heart and her greatest joy in life was spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Debbie Turner of Benton; her two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Mike Carr of Mount Ida and Kim and Mike Sisney of Bryant; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Jacki Turner, Brandon and Brandi Tweedle, Mandi and Bobby Richardson, Alex and Megan Jordan, Nikki Carr, Nicole and DJ Simmons, Noel and Dane Bailey and Amber Sisney; nine great-grandchildren, Kameron Tweedle, Kalea Tweedle, Keaton Jordan, Andrew Plyler, Chloe Plyler, Candace Isom, Lane Bailey, Brinzley Bailey and Bristol Simmons; one great-great-grandson, Lawson Carey; her sister, Carol Woodall of Daisy; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, August 9, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Ron Parker officiating.

Visitation will be held Monday, 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM, prior to the services at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Lodi Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dane Bailey, DJ Simmons, Brandon Tweedle, Alex Jordan, Kameron Tweedle and Tim Woodall.
