Mary H. "Muggs" Brake

Mary H. “Muggs” Brake, age 79, of Hot Springs, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021.

She was born on September 3, 1941, in Hot Springs, the daughter of Frank Maddon and Hazel Mae Greenbaum. On November 7, 2010, she married Bill Brake. She is preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Dorothy Ramey and Virginia Graves.

Mary was a devoted Christian, a member of Social Hill Baptist Church and was looking forward to meeting the Lord. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, putting jigsaw puzzles together and watching old movies. Mary made the best peanut butter cookies, homemade biscuits and gravy. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, who never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Brake of Hot Springs; her son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Kristi Humphreys of Royal; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Calvin Newman of Hot Springs; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Tremonti of Hot Springs; nine grandchildren, Kristopher Newman, Brandon Newman, Taylor Humphreys, Lanie Springer, Kyla Jones, Samantha Richie, Aaron Tremonti, Tyler Tremonti, and Jason McMurrian; her brother, Tom Maddon of Mountain Pine; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Frankie and L.D. Fendley and Janis Longnecker, all of Hot Springs, and Evelyn and Harold Pettitt of Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 7, 2021 in the Godwin Cemetery, Mountain Pine.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.
