Raymond D. Mace

Raymond D. Mace, age 85, of Hot Springs, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.

He was born on March 11, 1935, in Hot Springs, the son of George William Mace and Catherine Thelma Harnett Mace. On August 9, 1961, he was married to Ola Stafford Mace who preceded him in death on June 7, 2020. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Kay Mace; and two brothers, Kirby Mace and William Mace.

After retiring from the United States Navy, he went to work and retired from the Garland County Road Department. He would later work for the Hot Springs School District where he would also retire. Mr. Mace was a member of the Jesus Name Fellowship Tabernacle, enjoyed playing his harmonica and loved being with his family, especially the grandchildren. He enjoyed keeping his yard mowed and, if needed, any of his neighbors and friend’s yards.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Tammy and Curtis Cash and Russell and April Mace, all of Hot Springs; his sister, Evelyn “Sissy” Hughes of Little Rock; twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 1, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Bro. Vernon Rigsby officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday, 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Social distancing directives will be in place with no more than 66% total occupancy at any one time in the funeral home chapel, avoidance of physical contact and all attendees 10 years of age or older must be wearing a face covering at all times.

Interment with military honors will be in Crestview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Riddell, Cody Riddell, Brayden Cash. Tyler Mace, Christian Toribio and James Price.
