William David "Nickey" Stewart, age 70, of Murfreesboro, died Friday, July 31, 2015. He was born on December 21, 1944 at Murfreesboro, the son of Charlie Lee Stewart and Mattie Vivian Jeffers Stewart. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Stewart; his son, David Stewart; his parents; four brothers, Ralph Stewart, Dallas Stewart, Charles Stewart and Bill Stewart; and one sister, Jo Willett. He worked for Carroll Building and Appliance for over 30 years before working in the family peach orchard and selling produce. He loved to hunt and fish and was a member of the Highland Hunting Club. He never met a stranger. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Brent Strawn of Murfreesboro; four stepchildren, Donna Chaffee of Joplin, Missouri, David Chaffee of Murfreesboro, Deanna Osment Abel and her husband, Glen, of Texas and Daniel Irvin and his wife, Hannah, of Hot Springs; nine grandchildren, Madison Moody, Kelsi Moody, Dillon Strawn, Erik Irvin, Brooke Brinkley, Daxton Osment, Kathleen Irvin, Kimber Irvin and Kenley Irvin; two great-grandchildren, Harper Stout and Henley Frachiseur; two sisters, Iline Tadlock and Sue Scoggin, both of Murfreesboro; the mother of his children, Marsha Stewart of Murfreesboro; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 3, 2015, at the Murfreesboro First Christian Church with Bro. Rob Evans officiating. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, at the church. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
