Willie Gene Cogburn, age 71, of Fancy Hill, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013. He was born on February 11, 1942, at Fancy Hill, the son of Willie Anderson Cogburn and Gertie Bell Golden Cogburn. He was preceded in death by his son, Chad "Tadpole" Cogburn; his parents; four brothers, Frank Cogburn, Clyde Cogburn, Loyd Cogburn and Doyle Cogburn; and one step-sister, Velma Blanton. He was a logger and for several years worked for Roberts Logging as a cutter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Cogburn of Fancy Hill; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dave and Virginia Cogburn of Fancy Hill, Andy and Charity Cogburn of Black Springs and Daniel and Loretta Cogburn of Fancy Hill; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Lynn Cogburn of Fancy Hill; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Pauline Herring of Glenwood, Patsy and Junior Hamilton of Fancy Hill and Lois Mae and Danny Ponder of Langley; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 8, 2013, in the Fancy Hill Cemetery with Bro. Walter Graham officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Brent Vaughn, Jason Hamilton, Dave Cogburn, Andy Cogburn, Daniel Cogburn and Thad Cogburn.
