Adelle Bell

Adelle Callaway Bell, age 89 of Sparkman died Sunday, December 4, 2005 in Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. She was born Feb. 6, 1916 in the South Fork community the daughter of the late James Wylie and Dovie Graham Callaway. She was a retired LPN having worked at Clark Co. Hospital, which became Baptist Medical Center, Hospitality Care and the public school health nurse at Sparkman schools. She was the director of the Senior Adult Center in Sparkman, served for a number of years on the Silver Hair Legislature and former Citizen of the Year in Sparkman during the 1980's. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and a full time farmer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard H. Bell, one daughter, Brenda Freeman and grandson, Michael Bell.


Survivors include her two sons, Hardy Bell and wife, Nina of Sherwood and William Bell and wife, Cherrel of Sparkman; one daughter, Gale Bell of Sparkman; one brother, Robert Callaway of Baton Rouge, La; four granddaughters, Paula Stone, Emily Freeman, Jenny Howell and Angie Bell; one great-grandchild, Colby Howell, IV.


Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 7, 2005 in Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel with Bros. Jerry Holland and Max Deaton officiating. Interment will be in Sardis Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
