Alana Jean Spriggs Bosshart, aged 77, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on March 17, 2026, after a courageous battle with colon cancer that she fought with the strength and determination of a champion since 2017.
Born on September 16, 1948, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Alana spent her formative years alongside her two brothers at Saint Joseph’s Orphanage, where they attended day school and often spent evenings and weekends. Though not an orphan, those years shaped her resilience and compassion.
Alana is survived by her daughter, Kimberly; her brothers, Max A. Spriggs (Ann) and Jan A. Spriggs (Nikki); her faithful dog, Raven (now lovingly cared for by Kimberly); and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred E. Bosshart; her parents-in- law, Fred J. and Margaret A. Bosshart, whom she considered her own parents; her parents, Max A. and Thelma J. Spriggs; and her many treasured Scottish Terriers who brought her joy throughout her life.
Alana will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, her fierce loyalty to those she loved, and her ability to find light even in the darkest of times.
Visitation followed by the Holy Rosary will be at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 beginning at 5pm. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 1pm at Cathedral of St. Andrew, 617 South Louisiana Street, Little Rock.
In lieu of flowers, Kimberly is requesting that donations be made in Alana’s name to Paws in Prison where her beloved Raven was rescued or the Cathedral of St. Andrew.
