Albert Morgan

Albert J. Morgan passed away on the eighth of March, remaining united with his Savior and re-uniting with his late, beloved wife of 68 years.

Born on November 16, 1927 in Piggott, Arkansas, his mother was soon widowed and took in washing to make ends meet. Drafted at age 18, he served in the US Army for more than 20 years. A veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, he met his wife at Fort Hood, Texas, where they both served. He was baptized into Christ at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and remained a faithful Christian until his death. After working at Mid-State Tractor Sales for fifteen years, he and Margaret set out to travel the country, spending time in each of all 50 states. Later, they moved to Edinburg, Texas, for a few years before returning to Jacksonville, Arkansas. Before Margaret’s passing, the Morgans moved to Bryan, Texas to be near family. Before his passing, Albert was a resident at The Waterford of College Station.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Albert Morgan and Lela Mae Vaughn Morgan; his brothers, Gerald Morgan, Coy Morgan, and Lewis Payne; and his sisters, Vagel Tieche and Francis Swartz. He is survived by: his children and their spouses, Larry Morgan, Tracy Morgan, Deborah Whitt, and Earl Whitt; six grandchildren; nine great- grand-children; brother-and sister-in-law Eddie and Martha Green; sister-in-law Sherrye Ship; and many nieces and nephews.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
