Allene Coristo

Allene Ashley Coristo, of North Little Rock, was born February 20, 1934 in Piggott, Arkansas and passed away August 28, 2007. She lived in Helena, Arkansas for a time during her teenage years. She worked as a cashier on a ferryboat there on the Mississippi River. She moved to Alabama for a short time and then to Little Rock where she was a dance instructor at Arthur Murry Dance Studio. She married, moved to Northwest Pulaski County and raised a family where she lived for 50 years until her death. She enjoyed raising a garden and caring for her flowers. She would help anyone in need, when she was able.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Coristo; parents, Lewis and Gertrude (Matney) Jackson Bauldwin; one brother, D. L. Jackson; and two sisters, Mary (Levarn) Towns and Earlene Keltner.
She is survived by five children, J. D. Ashley, Jr. (Kathy), Rick Ashley (LuAnn), Melody Ashley, Todd Ashley, Sr. (Tessa), and Aaron Coristo; nine grandchildren, Joslin, Perris, Weston, Bratton, Lawson, Amber, Amanda, T. J., and Brooke Ashley; one sister, Joyce Nita Williams; two brothers, Ernie Baldwin, Jr. and Sam Baldwin; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2007 at North Little Rock Funeral Home with Brother Charlie Winters officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2007 at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main. 758-1170.
