Alnita Gill

Alnita Marie Gill, 91, of Sherwood passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013. She was born December 18, 1921 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Joseph C. Hoffman and Nellie Mae Jones Hoffman. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock, secretary to A.O. Holmes and secretary of Buckeye Christian School. Sister Alnita was devoted to her church. She built rose gardens, planned trips for the youth groups, provided transportation for people going to church and school. She worked for Timex and R.T. Hickerson. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Virginia Royce, of Sherwood, Janet Marie Davidson (Jimmy), of Cabot and Judith Ann McClain (Charles) of Little Rock; sisters, Margaret Justice, of North Little Rock and Nellie Mae Long (Guy) of North Little Rock; brothers, Joseph Craig Hoffman, of Missouri and LeVon Hoffman (Mary Jo); grandchildren, Sheila Harrison (David), Vaiden Holmes (Karen), Jeffrey Royce and Dana McClain; great-grandchildren, Candice Hill, Ashley Harrison, Kelli Guidry, Dylan Freeman, Trey Holmes, Kaci Miller and Vaiden Joseph Holmes; and great-great-grandchildren, Ephraim Hill, Evie Hill, Madelyn Guidry, and Christopher Miller, Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edward Carl Gill; sisters, Kitty Ott, Monnie Mae Beamsdorfer, Clara Lou Haney, Evelyn Springer and Christine Welsh.
Memorials may be made to First Pentecostal Church, 1401 Calvary, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at First Pentecostal Church. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the church.
