Alta Faye Dorsey

Alta Faye Dorsey, age 84, of Amity, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. She was born on March 3, 1932 in England, Arkansas, the daughter of Walter Hammock and Nora Greason Hammock. On July 7, 1951, she was married to Leamon Dorsey who preceded her in death on February 29, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her son, Alan Dorsey; and her sister, Esther Wallace. Alta was a woman of devoted faith and loved to attend church at the former Cornerstone Church in Amity. She loved life, loved to laugh and travel. She loved her family dearly and always saw the positive in every situation. She always had a huge smile. She is now dancing in Heaven. She is survived by two daughters, Carol DeLee of Fanshawe, Oklahoma and Cheryl (Barry) Kirksey of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Tiffany Cowart, Benji Gould, Tye Gould, Hunter Kirksey and Asher Kirksey; six great-grandchildren, Sierra Collier, Zoey Gould, Lexi Cowart, C. J. Cowart, Remi Cowart and Arli Cowart; her brother, Henry Hammock of Grass Valley, California; two sisters, Ruth Shuffield of Hot Springs and Bonnie Moule of Grass Valley, California; her nieces and nephews; and her adopted family, Mildred Howell and Sammie Fletcher who took such good care of her these last three years at her home. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 1, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. John McAnally officiating. Interment will be in Jones Cemetery.
