Alta Mae Harris Young, of East End, Arkansas passed away September 7, 2012. She was born May 30, 1926 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to the late Earl and Ethel Jeans Harris and she grew up in El Dorado. She was a long time employee and retiree from AT &T/Lucent Technology. She was an active member of East Union Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Secretary for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband Fee Edison Young. She is survived by one son, Randy Young (Debbie); three daughters, Linda Saddler, Sharon Mitchell (Kenny), and Vickie Hiblong (David), all of East End. She leaves behind eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.
Memorials may be made to East Union Missionary Baptist Church or Salem Cemetery.
Services will be held Monday, September 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., at East Union Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
