Alvin Oscar Bass, Jr. ("Al" ) 93, passed away January 9, 2018. He was born in Vilonia, Arkansas on May 14, 1924, the second son of Alvin and Ethel Bass.
He was a master craftsman in woodworking and cabinetry. Woodworking was his career and one of his great passions. His greatest joy was supplying family and friends with handmade wooden toys, bird feeders, etc. His other great passion was serving as usher for First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock. Al loved his Church where he nurtured his faith, friends, and extended family, and he received that love and nurturing from the ministers and Church community.
Al was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Oscar Bass, Sr., mother, Ethel Fortner Bass, brother, Thomas Virgil Bass, sister-in-law, Sue E. Bass, and brother-in-law, Robert Gregg Petersen. He is survived by his sister, Melba Bass Petersen, niece Mary Jane Huddleston (E.O.) and children, niece Becky Jeffery (Jerry, deceased) and child, nephew, Robert Gregg Petersen II (Marie) and nephew Steven Bass Petersen (Denise) and children.

The family will hold a private graveside service and then schedule a forthcoming memorial service to celebrate Al's life.
