Amy O'Dell

Listen to Obituary

Amy Hunkapiller O'Dell, of Maumelle, Arkansas, passed away at home on August 3, 2026, surrounded by family. Amy is survived by her husband Charles, son Daniel and daughter Graci. She is also survived by her mother, Lynda Sorrells, father and step-mother, Ron and Jeanne Hunkapiller, brother Kevin (Liz), sister Stacey (John), step-brother Kent Sorrells (Missy), step- sister Caroline (Chris), and cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is pre- deceased by her step-father, Barry Sorrells and step-brother, Barry Sorrells, Jr.

Amy's life was not an easy one. She had many battles to fight, but those struggles became part of her story, however, they were never the whole story. Amy was much more than the battles she fought. She had a tender heart, a beautiful soul and a longing to be loved and accepted. Amy cherished her role as mother to Daniel and Graci. Amy had such a special gift with children and loved her work as a professional nanny and daycare worker. Amy loved the Lord and accepted Him as her Savior and Redeemer. If Amy could speak to us today, she would tell us to trust Jesus completely. She would tell us that His Mercy is real, His forgiveness complete and His love greater than our greatest failures. She would remind us there is always hope in Him. Her family is rejoicing that she is finally free from the burdens she carried through life, standing whole and healed in the presence of the One Who loves her best. Rest in peace beautiful daughter. You are loved beyond measure.

A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
