Anita Merritt Fleckenstine, 68, of North Little Rock, passed away December 18, 2019. She was born January 5, 1951 to Jessie and Edna Merritt. Anita was a “Ray of Sunshine” with an amazing sense of humor and an infectious laugh. As a true crime enthusiast she has promised to send signs back to family and friends to solve crimes such as who killed J.R. and JonBenet. Anita utilized her sense of humor throughout her relentless battle with cancer, even initiating a gambling scheme with friends on lab results of CA 125. As a lover of art she was instrumental in starting the Argenta Art walk and accumulated an eclectic collection of art from local and national artists. Anita loved her husband, children, family, friends, rescue poodles, traveling, hiking, boots, and was always ready to enjoy good beer!
She is survived by her husband, Robert Fleckenstine; children, Eric Stringham, Jill Stringham, Michele Fleckenstine, and Brian Fleckenstine; grandchildren, Sophia Fleckenstine and Adalyn McDaniel; brother, Bill Merritt (Sharon); and nephews, Jason Merritt (Tammy), Brian Merritt, and Stephen Hunt (Phyliss). She was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene care of Brother Paul Holderfield, 116 South Pine, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene. Online guestbook at www.smithfamilycares.com.
