Anita Pearl Sarles

Anita Pearl Sarles, born Anita Pearl Barkemeyer on January 25, 1954, in New Albany, IN, passed away on June 15, 2024. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Anita had a passion for her family. She poured her heart and soul into caring for her loved ones, especially her sons: Philip Akridge, Bobby Wolfe, and James Wolfe. Her granddaughter, Nichole Barkemeyer held a special place in her heart and Anita's love was immeasurable. She found joy in the bond she shared with her siblings: Kathy Railey, Gorge Barkemeyer, and Jerry Barkemeyer.

While Anita's earthly journey has come to an end, her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear.

Anita's warm personality shined brightly through her love for embroidery and collecting Snoopy memorabilia. These hobbies not only brought her joy but also as a reflection of the creativity and warmth that radiated from within her.

A visitation to honor Anita's life will be held on June 27, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM.

Anita will forever remain a beacon of love and light. May she rest in peace knowing that she was loved beyond measure.
