Ann Helen Stevens (McManus); nee Anderson, age 93, passed away on March 31, 2025. Helen was born on April 30, 1931 to parents Elling and Elena Anderson in Circle, Montana. She was preceded in death by her 6 brothers and 4 sisters. Helen and her family moved to Lakeside, Montana in 1936 from the Fort Peck, Montana area.
She was married to Charles (Charlie) Stevens, II, from 1946 to 1996. They moved to Seattle, Washington and had 1 child, Charles Stevens, III (Chuck) in 1950. At the age of 15, she got her first job at Woolworth’s. Helen’s life included many homes and destinations. She will be remembered most in Kalispell, Montana for her 25 years at Rosauers grocery store, advancing to one of the store managers. She loved her customers and loved serving them.
Her service to others included serving on the Eagles auxiliary for many years and on the board of the Friendship House for 12 years in Kalispell. She also had an extensive doll collection that she donated to the Compact Hillcrest Children’s Home in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Helen married Dean (Red) McManus in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2007. They spent summers in Kalispell, Montana and winters in Wellton, Arizona. Red passed away in 2013 in Kalispell, Montana.
Helen is survived by her son, Chuck Stevens (Karen); 3 grandchildren, Jim (Bismarck), Holly (Malvern) and Cindy (Bismarck); 8 great-grandchildren, Samantha, Alex, Amanda, Kristen, Payton, Aidan, Courtney and Jesse; 4 great-great-grandchildren, Riley, Isabella, Asher and Haven.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marion Finley Friendship House at 606 Second Ave. West, Kalispell, Montana 59901 or to the Compact Hillcrest Children’s Home at 2235 Malvern Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Bismarck United Methodist Church with Pastor Fred Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Conrad Memorial Cemetery in Kalispell, Montana with her husband, Charles.
