Anne Bryles

Anne Vollmer Bryles went to be with our Lord and Savior peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday, July 12th, 2026, at 64 years of age, after a sudden and aggressive battle with breast cancer. Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Vollmer (Laura) and Mary Ann Vollmer; and her grandparents, Robert Vollmer (Dorothy), James Kimbrough (Ruby).

Anne graduated from Briarcrest Baptist High School in 1980 with honors and went on to attend college at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville on academic scholarship, for Agricultural Sciences, where she graduated with honors and was an active member of Alpha Zeta.

Anne was always the first to volunteer to help others or for her community, especially to her church communities as a member of the Germantown Presbyterian Church and then the United Methodist Church. Her faith in God was unwavering and served as a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her.

Anne had an immense passion for animals of all shapes and sizes. She was an active member of the National Block and Bridle Club when she was younger; riding, fitting, and caring for horses at her local stables, even representing UT in Hunter Jumper competitions. After college Anne became involved with the United Kennel Club as a trainer while also judging and competing in retriever trials. Later in life she remained an active member of the American Boer Goat Association, American Bantam Association, American Poultry Association, International Waterfowl Breeders Association, and Cochins International where she was able to share her love of animals with fellow members and exhibit her fowl. When she wasn’t helping her family, serving her church, testing a new recipe in the kitchen, or caring for her animals, she could often be found in her garden, where her dedication earned her the title of Master Gardener.

What Anne loved most in life was being a mother and grandmother. She was her family’s greatest champion, never missing an opportunity to encourage, teach, or celebrate those she loved. She often moved mountains to help her children and grandchildren pursue their dreams and find success. Whether sharing recipes in the kitchen, teaching them about animals, cheering from the sidelines, or simply offering wise counsel and a listening ear, Anne poured her heart into her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with them, and the lessons, traditions, and love she passed on will continue for generations.

Anne was a woman of remarkable strength, grace, and unconditional love. She devoted her life to caring for her family, supporting her friends, and helping those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness was boundless, her support reassuring, and her presence a source of comfort.

Anne is survived by her husband of 29 years, Tommy Bryles; her brother, Rick Vollmer (Kimberly); her sister, Stephanie Crosslin (Steve); her children, Marianne Price (Matt), Will Bryles (Lacie), and Addison Bryles; her grandchildren, Ruby Grace Price, Parish Price, Lula Kay Price, Lettie Jo Price, and Lorelei Bryles; and numerous cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing Anne is at peace in the presence of God. Her legacy of faith, compassion, hard work, and unconditional love lives on through the family she cherished, the friends she touched, and the countless lives she made better simply by being part of them. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
