April Christine Ashworth

April Christine Ashworth, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, niece, and friend, passed away on November 3, 2023. She was born on December 12, 1969, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

April had a zest for life that was contagious to everyone around her. She had a unique way of finding joy in the simplest things. One of her fondest memories was making and eating Chex mix with her mother, creating a bond that would forever hold a special place in her heart.

April's love for learning led her to graduate from Bryant High School. She continued to pursue her education and received a bachelor’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Central Arkansas before becoming a mental health counselor.  Her thirst for knowledge was never quenched, and she always encouraged others to pursue their dreams.

April's favorite color was pink, and she surrounded herself with its vibrant hues to uplift those around her. She adored butterflies and found solace in their graceful flight. April also had a sweet tooth and enjoyed eating, snacking, and indulging in diet Coke and chocolate.

Family meant the world to April, and she cherished the time spent with them. She is survived by her son, Richard Edward Ashworth Jr., who will carry on her legacy with pride. April also leaves behind her loving mother, Dean Davis; caring stepfather, Jim Davis; sister, Priscilla Campbell; brother, Don Davis; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a special friend, Ray Berta, who will all miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Pohnka Jr., paternal and maternal grandparents; sister, Charity Humphrey; brother, Doug Davis; uncles, Mickey, Charles, and Ellis Higgs; and aunts, Maxine, and Juanita.

To honor the life of April, visitation services will be held at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St. Benton, AR on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 4:00-5:00 PM. This will be followed by a funeral service at the same location officiated by Rev. Rick Porter and Rev. Alan Cook from 5:00-6:00 PM. She will be laid to rest on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Pinecrest Cemetery in Alexander, AR.

April Christine Ashworth may be no longer physically present with us, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She fought a courageous fight and kept a positive attitude through it all. The family would like to thank Beverly, Debby, Weeda, Janet, Christine, and Glenda for all their love, support, and generosity during such a time of need.
