Arnold Earnest Banks, age 91, of Arkadelphia died Friday, July 5, 2013 in Little Rock. He was born September 2, 1921 in the Rush Fork Community near Hot Springs the son of the late Earnest and Viola Jones Banks. He was a retired mechanic, owned and operated a wrecker service and pulpwood business in Arkadelphia for many years. Arnold was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Woodmen of the World.
He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Banks; two sisters, Terri and Verna Lee; and a special friend, Billy Ruggles.
Survivors are his wife, Geanetta Malcom Banks; a son, Billy Paul Chaves and wife, Leah; a daughter, Kimberly O'Neal, two grandchildren, Austin O'Neal and Hailey O'Neal all of Arkadelphia; two other surviving children, Gene Banks & family and Louise Brewer & family all of Arkadelphia.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 10th at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Kluck and Bro. Charlie Williams officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
