Aubrey Davidson

On September 10, 2019 Aubrey Dale “Shorty” Davidson of North Little Rock, Arkansas received a “Heroes Welcome” by his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ and his “Babe” ran to greet him with open arms. He was born August 31, 1929 in Plumerville, Arkansas to the late James Cicero & Mable Clara (Morgan) Davidson. “Mr. Aubrey”, as he was addressed by many, was a faithful member of Cedar Heights Baptist Church, NLR, AR, for 38 years serving alongside his wife, “Mrs. Joyce”, as youth and children’s Sunday School minister for 35 years. Known to his fellow soldiers as “Dave”, he served in the United States Army with the Triple 999th Field Artillery Battalion, a Korean War Veteran. Aubrey was a dedicated leader who worked with integrity throughout his career. He retired from both Kellwood Manufacturing Company in Little Rock, AR and the United States Postal Service where he became known as “Abe”. Aubrey and his wife built a home-based Shaklee business in 1979 which is still active today.

Aubrey was preceded in death by both parents, three brothers (Jack, Bill and Doyle Davidson), and his wife of 52 years Joyce Ann Davidson. Survivors include his daughters: Ellyce (Chris) Best of Sherwood, AR; Tami (Mark) Winchester of North Little Rock, AR; Grandchildren: Alan Winchester, Jonathan Winchester and Haley Best; Great Grandchild: Kaleb Winchester; Brother: Jimmy H. “Bo” Davidson of Plumerville; Sisters: Barbara Davidson of Plumerville; Peggy Smith of Plumerville.

Aubrey was a Patriarch of faith and integrity. He was a devoted husband, father and “Papa” with a constant love for his family. His ability to walk in truth and righteousness of God will remain a legacy of love to all who knew him.
