Austin L. "Slim" Thompson, age 81, of Arkadelphia, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at his home. He was born August 17, 1935 in Arkadelphia to the late Roy and Lerla Francis Thompson. Slim was retired from Henderson State Cafeteria after forty-eight years and was a Baptist.
 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Thompson; a daughter, Barbara Aline Thompson; siblings, Roy Glenn Thompson, Leland Thompson, Pete Thompson, Gladys Helton, and Laron Earl Thompson.
 
Survivors include two sons, Louis Wayne Thompson, Austin Gene Thompson and wife, Emily all of Arkadelphia; one brother, Bill Thompson of Arkadelphia; one sister, Wanda Flowers; five grandchildren, Colton, Hunter, Cherokee, Zander, and Hadlee.  His grandchildren were the sunshine of his life.
 
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Richland Cemetery.
