Avis Marie Patterson Smith, 94, of Little Rock passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017. She was born February 21, 1923 in Craighead County, Arkansas to Clayton and Cansada Patterson.
She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Dees (James) and Susan Mehren (Tim); grandchildren, Michelle Sandwell (Jay), Meridith Sweeney, Chantelle Bisbee (Pat), and Stephen Mehren (Gretchen); great-grandchildren, Jennifer McLane (Philip), Jeffrey Sandwell, Colton and Wyatt Sweeney, Kylie, Drew and Leah Bisbee and one great-grandchild that lives in Heaven, Jenna Grace Bisbee; as well as several extended family members. Avis was also preceded in death by her parents; five sisters and four brothers.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 20th followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., at Sherwood First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Bayou Meto Cemetery, Jacksonville.
