Gene Barrett Turk, 87, of Sherrill, AR, passed away December 29, 2009. She was born in Sherrill, AR., to Henry Rush Barrett and Martha Eva Craig Barrett and was a member of Sherrill United Methodist Church, and a Board member with South Eastern Arkansas Mental Health Association, attended Hendrix College, President of the UMW, Sirosis Club, member of Sesame and devoted thirty years as a Kindergarten Bible class teacher at Sherrill UMC.
She is survived by her son, Henry Turk, sisters, Ada Katheryn Albright and Wilsie Mae Colclasure all of Sherrill, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Turk, parents and brother, Henry Barrett, Jr.
A casual memorial service will be held Friday, January 1, 2010 at 1:30 p.m., at Sherrill United Methodist Church.
