Barbara C. Douglass, 73, of Mabelvale, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Monday, October 15, 2012. She was born in Crossett to John Belton and Georgie Sammons Croswell and was a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. She and her husband owned the Douglass Woodshop and also the first video store in Arkansas, the Video Gallery.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerry V. Douglass, brother, R.N. Croswell and sister, Maggie Rhodes, she is survived by her daughters, Jerilyn Ann Hess of Mabelvale and Debora Lorraine Douglass of Little Rock; grandchildren, Nathan Douglass Hess of Bee Branch and Jorgi Marie Hess of Mabelvale; and great-granddaughter, Maddilyn LeeAnn Bales, of Mabelvale.
Services will be held on Thursday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church, 12400 I-30, Little Rock, officiated by Dr. Paul Sanders. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Memorials may be made to the Geyer Springs First Baptist Church Building Fund.
