Barbara Ann Hollingsworth, born on September 18, 1940, in Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. She lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and a profound love for her family and friends.
Throughout her career, Barbara dedicated herself to her work as a secretary for insurance companies, where her attention to detail and commitment to service shone brightly. Beyond her professional life, Barbara was deeply involved in her community and was a proud member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant.
Barbara cherished the simple joys of life, particularly those spent in nature and with loved ones. She had a passion for travel, sharing memorable experiences with her sister Elouise, and created beautiful memories with her children during fishing trips on Lake Chicot. Her adventurous spirit took her to distant lands, with highlights including a trip to New Zealand and a river cruise through the picturesque locks of Europe.
At home, Barbara was known for her elaborate table settings and beautiful decorations that transformed her gatherings into cherished family celebrations. Her love for cooking was evident as she delighted in bringing friends and family together, ensuring everyone felt special and cared for. Her gift giving was boundless, reflecting her nurturing personality and her huge giving nature.
Barbara's legacy is carried forward by her son, Lee Alan Hollingsworth; daughter, Becky Earhart and her husband Joe; and daughter-in-law, Jami Hollingsworth. She is a proud grandmother to Lisha Yates and Jacob Hollingsworth, Jessica Hollingsworth, and cherished aunt to niece Catherine Tibbs and nephews William and Robert Gibbons. She is also survived by many family members and friends whose lives she touched and who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lisha Hollingsworth; her parents Dail and Hattie (Pilcher) Hughes; brother Robert Hughes; and sister Elouise Gibbons.
A graveside service in her honor will take place on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 2:30 PM, at Prairie Bayou Cemetery in DeRoche, Arkansas, providing an opportunity for those who knew and loved Barbara to gather, reminisce, and celebrate her remarkable life. She will always be remembered for her warmth, love, and the countless ways she made a positive difference in the lives of so many.
