Barbara Moncus, age 79, of Amity, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
She was born on November 13, 1941, in Stephenville, Texas, the daughter of Cleo N. Tuggle and Yvonne Campbell Tuggle. On June 11, 1958, she was married to Jack Moncus who preceded her in death on August 8, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jocylin Garner and her twin sister, Charlotte Wilson.
Barbara was a waitress and hostess for several area restaurants, Doc’s Drive In, Kirby Truck Stop, Kirby Restaurant and the Fish Nest locations in Pearcy and Glenwood. She was definitely a people person and always took time to visit with her customers. Barbara enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and tending to her flowers. She was a Baptist in her faith.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Joanne Garner of Glenwood, Jackie W. and Donna Moncus of Leland, North Carolina, Brenda and Randy Hardy of Amity and Janet and Kevin Fant of Murfreesboro; seven grandchildren, Rylee Chambers, David Grossnickle, Daniel Grossnickle, Jeremy Moncus, April Rains-Johnson, Hunter Fant and Aspen Fant; eight great-grandchildren, Cannon, Creed, Diego, Alex, Clover, Aiden, Easton and Everleigh; four siblings, Sherry Disebastiano of Burnet, Texas, Larry Tuggle of Lipan, Texas, Robert Tuggle of Denton, Texas, and Pam Fowler of Mineral Wells, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 5, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. John McAnally officiating.
