Becky Stewart

Becky Stewart, age 84, of Glenwood, died Monday, September 17, 2012. She was born on October 28, 1927, at Newhope, the daughter of Joe Cogburn and Della Killian Cogburn. On March 30, 1946, she was married to William P. Stewart, who preceded her in death on May 10, 1976. She was also preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Lee Stewart; four brothers, Arlie Cogburn, Bennett "Nort" Cogburn, Alvie Cogburn and Haskell "Dude" Cogburn; and one sister, Leoma Echols. She was a member of the Hope and Faith Church in Glenwood and worked as a waitress at the Wilmoth Restaurant in Memphis, Tennessee, where she retired. She enjoyed growing flowers and quilting. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Thelma Jean and Don Smith of Atoka, Tennessee and Dulane and Jim Alexander of Hollywood, Florida; five grandchildren and their spouses, Judy and Greg Ivy of Memphis, Tennessee, Paula and Terry Russom of Lakeland, Tennessee, Michael Munsell of Memphis, Tennessee, Billy Wade of Memphis, Tennessee and Christopher Stewart of Arkansas; seven great-grandchildren, Ian Ivy, Zannah Ivy, Evan Ivy, Drew Russom, Shelby Russom, Allison Russom and Xabier Jordan Wade; one brother and sister-in-law, Thelbert "Hoss" and Lois Cogburn of Glenwood; one sister, Recie Cogburn of Mena; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 28, 2012, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Joe Cogburn officiating. Local arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 23, 2012, at the Forest Hill East Funeral Home in Memphis, Tennessee, with visitation from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the service. Interment was held in the Forest Hill East Cemetery under the direction of Forest Hill East Funeral Home of Memphis, Tennessee. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
