Bengeman (Gene) Ballew, 81, of Cabot, passed away at home on August 8th, 2012.
Gene was born on January 2, 1931 in Shady Grove to James and Bertha (Meggs) Ballew. Gene was in the United States Navy serving his country during the Korean War. His most treasured times were spent with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Scott; a granddaughter, Ashley Ballew; and four brothers.
Gene is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 25 years, Dell Ballew, his three children Randy (Sandra), Angela Deeds (Tim), and Gary, five grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren; his wife's children, Kim Booth (Tom), Greg Paladino (Charlotte), and Lisa Baker (Jeff); seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear sister, Lila Scott, who spent many hours at his bedside during his illness.
The family wishes to express deepest appreciation to Gene's caregivers Carol Wright and Patricia Shields for their excellent care and compassion. The family would also like to thank his special nurse Ellen with Baptist Home Health Care. Gene will be truly missed by a host of family and friends who all loved him dearly.
A graveside service will be held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery on August 10th, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements made by North Little Rock Funeral Home. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
