Benny Ray Cogburn

Benny Ray Cogburn, age 50, of Norman, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023.

He was born on March 22, 1973, in Hot Springs, the son of L.D. Cogburn and Phyllis Ann Kesterson Cox.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joe David Cogburn; and one angel grandbaby.

On October 10, 1992, Benny married the true love of his life, Robin Medina.  Benny enjoyed life and the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping.  He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, whose greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife, children and especially his grandchildren, who he adored.  Benny will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of thirty years, Robin Cogburn of Norman; his three children and their spouses, Trey and Kimberly Medina, Nicole Cogburn and Dillon Ledbetter and Phyliss Cogburn and Tony Standridge, Jr., all of Norman; his six grandchildren, Addyson, Ashlynn, Adalynn, Colton, Collin, Jaylynn, and one on the way; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Tommy and Delores Cogburn of Norman, Billy and Christi Cogburn of Nashville and Dwight Cox of Fayetteville; two sisters, Vickie Cogburn and Tonya Cogburn, both of Glenwood; his lifelong best friend/brother, Scotty Freeman; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 14, 2023, in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Newhope, with Bro. Bobby Lock officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, 209 North Third Street, Glenwood, Arkansas 71943.

Pallbearers will be Scotty Freeman, Billy Cogburn, Tommy Cogburn, Dwight Cox, Jackie Murphy and Robert Wilhite.

Honorary pallbearers will be Trey Medina, Mark Cogburn, Eric Cogburn, Zach Cogburn, Scott Freeman, Trent Freeman and Linzy Yandell.
