Bernadine C. Morris

Bernadine Corbell was born on February 8, 1932, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Hannie J. and Clara Whitten Corbell.

In her early years, the family – including older sister Bernice – made frequent visits to Bluff Springs, Arkansas. After she started school, the family moved to a dairy farm in Little Rock. Bernadine graduated from Little Rock High School.

After a whirlwind courtship in 1951, she married Harold Morris on a June Sunday in Little Rock. On Monday the newlyweds went to meet the rest of Harold’s family in Quitman, and on Tuesday they moved to Chicago where Harold entered trade school. They returned to Little Rock after just one year. Subsequently, they moved to Richardson, Texas, and after Harold retired they returned to Quitman. Harold died December 18, 2013.

Bernadine worked at Texas Instruments, first assembling semiconductors, then as a secretary. She worked as a quality control secretary for Skil-Bosch in Heber Springs until her retirement.

Bernadine is beloved of: Children, Ann (Vada Woods) of Skokie, Illinois, Carla Hayes of Flippin, Arkansas and Richard (Debbie) of Plano, Texas; Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, Michael (Rachel) Hayes and their daughters, Audrey and Moira of Lincoln, Nebraska and John (Mari) Hayes and their daughters, Allyson and Caitlin of Rogers, Arkansas.
