Bessie Carolyn Burks

Bessie Carolyn Burks, of Benton, Arkansas, was born on November 1, 1940, in Benton and passed away there on September 6, 2026. She will be remembered with love by those who knew her and by the family she cherished through the years.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Burks. She also leaves behind her sons, Tony Burks and Preston Burks; her grandchildren, Jason Burks, Brandon Burks, and Nancy Munoz; and her great-grandchildren, Jacob Burks, Lukas Burks, Nickey Burks, Philip Burks, Florence Burks, Francie Burks, and Maddox Munoz. Her family remains a lasting part of her legacy, and her memory will continue to live on in the lives of those who loved her.

Bessie was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Spencer; her mother, Helen Spencer; and her brothers, Ray Spencer, Bobby Spencer, and her sister Winfrey Davis.

Visitation will be held on September 10, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home Benton, 322 N Market Street, Benton, Arkansas 72015. A graveside service will be held on September 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Social Hill Cemetery, 2021 AR-35, Benton, Arkansas 72015.
