Betty Alden Jordan, 91 passed away August 12, 2023 in Conway, AR after a brief illness. Betty was born March 4, 1932 in Danville, Virginia to William Franklin Alden Sr. and Clara (McPeak) Alden.

Betty was a cheerleader, homecoming court member, classically trained pianist and operetta singer as well as co-valedictorian of her high school class and a top honors graduate of the University of North Carolina/Chapel Hill in 1953 with a degree in science and public health. She was admitted to Johns Hopkins Medical School, however she decided to stay in Danville and teach science and math. In 1956 she married Frank Jordan in Danville, VA, and remained married to him until he passed away in 2022.

Betty moved to Little Rock from New Orleans in 1985 with her husband due to work, and remained there until they both moved to Conway in 2016. They were both members of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Conway. Betty retired from working 20 years in a Little Rock orthopedic clinic.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her 3 brothers and 1 sister: William Franklin Alden Jr., Roger Bacon Alden, John Davenport Alden, and Olivia Katherine (Alden) Oakes, as well as a nephew and niece (Jerry and Barbara Oakes).

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Anne Jordan Witte (Mark Witte) and Elizabeth Alden Jordan. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren, Mallory Elizabeth (Witte) Jackson (Matthew), Lauryn Elizabeth (Walters) Crockett (Matthew), Mark Christian Witte and Christopher Alden Walters, and 2 great-grandsons, Henry and Archer Jackson. She is also survived by her many Alden nieces and nephews, and her sister-in-law and childhood friend, Audrey Alden of Williamsburg, VA.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, September 9th at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Conway, AR at 10:00am, following the service, she will be interred in the columbarium at St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
