Betty Finnell

Betty Lea Finnell, of Sherwood, AR, passed away on Sunday September 3, 2017. She was 82 years old.
Betty was born on September 9, 1934 in Stegall, AR to David and Virgie Combs. She was born a sharecropper and had a very labored and hard young life but also one of close family and lots of love. Soon after she finished high school she moved to Kansas City to continue her education. There she met Blufard, and they soon found each other's hearts. She and Blufard lived in Independence, MO for a few years before moving to Arkansas to be closer to both of their families. She worked at a few different places throughout her life. At Crow-Burlingame she met a lot of friends that would span her lifetime. Most notably though was her career at Hancock Fabrics. She loved to sew and was very knowledgeable about it. She met so many people from there and was loved by all who worked there and everyone who came through the doors.
Betty might have worked a lot, sometimes two jobs to make ends meet, but she never stopped being a wonderful mother. She raised four children and was such a special granny to all her grandkids and great granddaughter. She was also a second mother to so many people including Louise Lee of Jackson, TN.
Betty is survived by her children, Kelly Fisher and her husband Ward of Broomfield, CO, Jonnie Lewis of Sherwood, AR, Larry Finnell of Sherwood, AR and Michael Finnell and his wife Janna of Jacksonville, AR; her one brother Stan Combs and his wife Betty of Huntington Beach, CA; her grandchildren, Jessica, Joe, Zack, Max and Sammy Blu; and her great-grandchild Jillian. She is preceded in death by her husband, Blufard Ray Finnell of Sherwood, AR.
Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Smith- North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock with Funeral Service following at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Keo Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Betty's life.
