Betty Alexander Frelk

Betty Alexander Frelk, age 83, of Mount Ida, entered into rest on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

She was born on May 15, 1940, in Sims, the daughter of Walter Eugene Alexander and Minnie Ethel Bates Alexander.  On November 13, 1971, she was married to Elmer Frelk.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 years; her siblings, W.C. Alexander, Marie Stovall, Mary Curry, and J.R. Alexander; and her bonus children, Gable Frelk and Darlene Schimek

Betty was Pentecostal in her faith. She was known for being talented in everything she did and being a loving homemaker. She was an accomplished organist and artist. She competed in many golf tournaments and loved being on the golf course. Betty will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Jan Boyd of Mount Ida; her sister-in-law, Alene Alexander of Mount Ida; her bonus children Linda and Barry Lipson, and Alan Frelk; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Owley Cemetery with Bro. Samuel Anderson officiating.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 25, 2023, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Boyd, Rosston Dobson, Myles Dobson, Bartley Carlton, Tony Rocha, and G.W. Helms.
