Betty Joyce Campbell Weston, age 81, of Alamo, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021.
She was born on December 16, 1939, in Montgomery County, the daughter of Wilbur Scott Campbell and Savilla Driggers Campbell Terry. On October 2, 1968, she was married to Eddie Ray Weston. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Barbara Greene.
For over fourteen years Betty worked for the Mount Ida Public School District as a bus driver, making sure many children made their way to school and back home safe and sound. She also worked, the majority of her life, helping her father and then her husband put up hay, working cattle and growing many huge gardens. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing, but Betty’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, whom she loved and adored.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie Ray Weston of Alamo; her son and daughter-in-law, Clinton Ray and Becky Weston of Fordyce; her two daughters and son-in-law, Jamie and David Owens of Royal and Angel Weston Walker of Hot Springs; four grandchildren, Devin Weston and his wife, Julie, Leslee Weston, Colton Walker and Dakota Walker; two great-grandchildren, Camden Weston and Landry Weston and one on the way; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Brenda and Robert Joe Wright of Glenwood, Bonita Campbell of Bryant and Bernadette and Bill Brown of Norman; her best friend, Carol Stapp of Mount Ida; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 10, 2021, in the Alamo Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Barry Norman and Bro. Patrick Saveall officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood.
Interment will be in the Peak Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Devin Weston, David Owens, Steve Walker, Colton Walker, Dakota Walker and Leslee Weston.
