Betty Lou Nigh, born December 6, 1941, in Council Grove, Kansas, passed into the arms of her Lord on May 16, 2025.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Calvin Nigh; her mother, Rowena Nigh; her daughter, Maryann Paris; and her brother, Gene Marple and two great-grandchildren. She is lovingly remembered by her son, James Nigh of Cottonwood Falls, KS; her daughter, Linda (Bobby) Freeman of Sparkman, AR; her brother, Vernon Marple (Karen) of Emporia, KS; grandchildren Dwight Nigh, Wayne Burnett, Jared Freeman, Erin Nigh, and Tiana Freeman; and eight great-grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Betty dedicated herself to caring for others, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in various nursing homes. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her work, as she and her husband devoted themselves to ministry, traveling and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ together.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Greenwood Cemetery in Council Grove, Kansas, where Betty will be laid to rest alongside her loved ones.
Betty’s unwavering faith, compassion, and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
