She was born in Leslie, Arkansas on October 9, 1934 to Myrtle and Doyle White. She was raised in Benton, Arkansas, and attended Southern Arkansas University.
Betty lived many years in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was an avid tennis player.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Ewing C. Reed Jr., and her son, Lawrence Daniel Dees.
She is survived by daughters, Cynthia Dees Creager and husband, Robert, of Houston, Texas, Beverly Ann Moore and husband, David, of Peachtree City, Georgia and Sharon Dees Hobbs and husband, Johnny, of Savannah, Georgia. Also survived by grandchildren Shawn Paul of Houston, Texas, Keith Moore and Kathryn Moore of Peachtree City, Georgia.
