Betty Jean (Womble) Richardson

Betty Jean (Womble) Richardson, age 91, of Hot Springs, AR passed away on September 2, 2026. She was born June 24, 1935, to Lewis Lee Womble and Willie Lee (Hatcher) Womble of Sheridan, AR.

She worked for S.H. Kress for two years, a devoted housewife, and then in the family business at Ricky's for seventeen years. She was a proud graduate of Sheridan High School and a member of the Church of Christ on Aldridge Road.

Betty is predeceased by her parents; husband of sixty-four years, Jerry Richardson; three brothers, Troy Alvis Womble, Jamie Womble, and James Womble; two sisters, Shirley Oswald and Marie Bunch.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Essner (Tony); sons, Steve Richardson (Tabitha) and Perry Richardson (Genny); grandchildren, Angela Blair, Andy Essner, Alex Essner, Austin Essner, Eric Richardson, Megan Richardson, and Leo Richardson; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Mackenzie, and Carter Blair, Paxton, Myla, and Zane Essner, Rowan Essner, Eli and Josie Essner, and Roman and Elyana Richardson; two brothers, Dean Womble (Sandra), and Bobby Womble; and a host of nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.

A Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, with a service immediately following at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Hot Springs. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Amity, AR.
