April 1, 1929 — January 2, 2013

Betty Singleton

Our dear mother, Betty Ilene (Macklin) Singleton, slipped away early on January 2, 2013. Born in Lebanon, Kansas on April Fool's Day, 1929, she passed up college to marry Parvin, who predeceased her, and raised four rowdy kids. She loved us unconditionally, quietly sacrificing her time and effort, encouraging us to grow into the person he or she wanted, not the person she wanted us to be. At age 55, Betty achieved her LPN degree and worked in health care before being sidelined into a wheelchair. She spent her final years at Audubon Pointe, then Good Shepherd, among many loving friends and bingo.
Survivors are sons, Ralph (Vickie) of Lake Wylie, South Carolina and Tom (Mary) Singleton of Hensley; daughters, Saundra (Floyd) Raney of Little Rock and Nan Taylor of Perryville; grandchildren, April Lester, Chad Dixon, Tori Singleton, Brandy Stone and James Lane; and great-grandchildren, Blake Lester, Barrett Cook, James, Jacob and Justin Stone.
Services will be Saturday, January 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), followed by burial at Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, (501)224-2200. Betty's online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
