Betty Sue Johnson

Listen to Obituary

Betty Sue Johnson, a beloved wife, mother, nana, and sister, peacefully entered eternal rest on May 28, 2026, in Maud, Texas. Born November 21, 1943, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Betty lived a life defined by dedication to her family, her faith, and a remarkable work ethic.

Betty enjoyed her work and dedicated over 40 years of her life to Shelby Taylor Trucking, where she served as a bookkeeper. She only recently stepped into a well-deserved retirement in January of 2026, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and friendships that spanned generations within the company.

She was a cherished daughter of the late George H. Cummings and Lorene Marie Southerland Cummings. Betty was a devoted wife to her husband, Jeffery Johnson. While she is reunited in heaven with her parents and her sister, Doris Moyer, her spirit lives on through the large, loving family she nurtured.

Her memory will be forever treasured by her children: Kelly Barnhart (Richard), Scott Millsapps (Stephanie), LeAnn Johnson, and Robert Johnson. She was a proud grandmother to Kevin Barnhart (Christy), Brian Barnhart (Katherine), David Barnhart (Lydia), Linsey Law (Jason), Brandon Henley, Brittany Henley, Asthon Bates (Aaron), Jordan Millsapps, and Michael Millsapps (Hutner). She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Lily, Jenna, Jacob, Daniel, Easton, London, Josie, Richard, Cole, Remington, Emersyn, Mayci, Jacob, and Nolan. She also leaves behind her siblings, George Albert Cummings (Barbara) and Charles Cummings (the late Marilyn), and a host of many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff at Dierksen Hospice in Texarkana for their compassionate care and support.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home followed by funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place at Arkansas Memorial Gardens.
