Betty Jean Hancock Watson age 83, was born January 11th 1943, to Elmer and Bessie Hancock of Rosboro, Arkansas.
Betty went to be with her Lord and savior on July 23rd 2026. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Hursel Watson who she wed in 1963, and her older brother Charles Ray Hancock of Ruston, Louisiana. She is survived by her two sibling sisters Virginia Whitney of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Lela Brodie of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by her three children all of whom reside in Glenwood, Arkansas. Don Watson, Stacy Watson, and Melissia Bliss, and seven grandchildren.
Betty held several jobs over the years. After graduating high school she was employed at the Glenwood Glove factory, then Allied Telephone Company that was later to become Alltel. There she worked as an operator and retired as a shift supervisor. In between her times at the telephone company, she worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for WESTERN AUTO that was a Watson owned and managed retail store.
Betty liked to spend her Summers with the kids and family on the local lakes boating and fishing. Betty and Don would take off on overnight fishing excursions on whatever river that they heard the fish were biting on. Betty loved to spend time during holidays cooking spectacular meals and whipping up her chocolate fudge platter.
After her Mother Bessie became ill, she dedicated her life and time to care for her mother until she passed away.

Special mention to her lifelong friend and co-worker Norma Jean Veteto, and Gladys Higgins who cared for her in her later years.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Monday, July 27, 2026 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Smith Family Funeral Home- Glenwood.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel- Glenwood with Bro. James Owens officiating.
Interment will be held at Glenwood Cemetery.
