Bettye Adiene Norwood, of Little Rock, widow of Robert J. Norwood, Sr., passed away Thursday, February 26, 2009. Born February 20, 1926 in Nashville, Arkansas, she was the daughter of John Horace and Frances Elizabeth Barefield Hedrick. She retired from Baptist Medical Center and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Gayla Hooten (Ernest), and Debbye Wolter (Chuck); son, Robert J. Norwood, Jr. (Cecilia); brother, John Hedrick, Jr. of Plano, Texas; granddaughters, Shayna Ison, Krissi Fraley, Stephanie Wooldridge (Trent) and Katy Norwood; grandson, Michael Wrenn; great-grandson, Owen Fraley; and a host of other family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, March 1 at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 2 at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Sue Howe. Interment will follow in Edgewood Memorial Park in North Little Rock. Memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church.
