Bettye Sutton

Bettye Frances Morris Sutton passed from this life on May 27, 2024, at the age of 89 in Austin, Texas. She was born on June 16, 1934, in Little Rock, Arkansas to James Arville and Frances Elizabeth Morris. Bettye had a life-long love of books and history, having earned a Masters in History and a Masters in Library Science. Her career was as a teacher and a research librarian.

Bettye is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Gary B. Sutton; her daughter, Cathy Gregory (Barry); her sons, James Sutton (Shawn), and Glenn Sutton (Amy); grandsons, Cory Gregory (Lauren), Graydon Sutton, and Chase Sutton; granddaughters, Meagan Gregory and Emma Sutton; great-granddaughters, Joanna and Katie. She is also survived by her sister, Peggy Hart, and her brother, Stephen Morris (Jeannie); and step-grandchildren, Camden, Storey, and Ryan as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be a graveside memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Oliver Family Cemetery in Mt.
