Betty Jonell "Nell" Price

Betty Jonell “Nell” Price, 89, of Hickory Plains, Arkansas, died on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from complications of dementia.  She was born on April 25, 1932 in Bentley Louisiana to Ray and Myrtle Daily.  She was the fifth of seven children born to Ray and Myrtle Daily.  She married Oscar Richard “Bully” Price in August of 1947 and in January of 1948 moved to Hickory Plains, Arkansas to begin a life of farming and dairying.

Nell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 years Oscar Richard "Bully" Price, one brother Ralph Daily, by three sisters, Louis Cooper, Jean McLean, and Doris Paul; four sons, Timothy Price, Randall Price, Tommy Price, and Bobby Price by one daughter Rebecca Price, and grandson Matthew Price all of Hickory Plains, Arkansas.

She is survived by her brother Peck Daily of Indiana, by her sister Laura Jones of California, three sons, Rodney and Sue Price of Hallsville, Texas, Richard and Cindy Price of Hickory Plains, Arkansas, and Russell and Olivette Price of Camden, Arkansas, as well as 26 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and neighbors.

Memorials may be made to the Hickory Plains Cemetery, c/o Gary Walters, PO Box 63, Ward, AR  72176.  The family would like to thank all the neighbors and friends who helped during Nells illness, Arkansas Hospice, and the staff at Des Arc Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 29th at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Dr., Beebe, Arkansas.  A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 30th, at the Lonoke Apostolic Church, 421 Eagle St., Lonoke, Arkansas, conducted by Rev. John Tackett.   Pallbearers will be Shane Price, Marcus Price, Carey Knowlton, Cody Knowlton, Josh Price, Jake Price, Dusty Price and Clint Price.  Honorary pallbearers are all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
