Bill Holbert (75) passed away on August 30. He was born in Arkansas County in 1938, and graduated from DeWitt High School. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Math and History from Henderson State and a Master's degree from American University in Washington D.C.
He retired as a Lt. Colonel after serving for 20 years in the U.S. Army and went on to a second career at American Home Life Insurance Company and North Little Rock Funeral Home in North Little Rock. He was a member of the North Little Rock Rotary Club and enjoyed going on cruises and traveling with his wife and friends during his retirement years.
He is survived by his beloved wife Helga, his much loved daughter Annette and son Mark (Lisa), and two treasured grandchildren, Maddox and Riley. He is also survived by a sister, Charlene, brother, Delbert (Fay), sister-in-law, Betty, and many nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, and will be missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 14 Parkstone Circle, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116.
A visitation will be held 6:00-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock.
