Bill York

Bill York, age 78, of Amity, died Thursday, February 7, 2013. He was born on June 27, 1934 at Magnet Cove, the son of Lewis Charles York and Lurah Gibson York. On November 21, 1959, he was married to Mary Rice. He was preceded in death by his parents; and fourteen brothers and sisters. He was a retired logger. He is survived by his wife, Mary Rice York of Amity; three children and their spouses, Debra Smith of Hot Springs, Billy, Jr. and Sheri York of Amity and Ann and Mike Carpenter of Amity; five grandchildren and their spouses, Joseph Ford, Breannon and Kris Kelley, Trey and Emily York, Brandon and Ella Carpenter and Nicole and Logan Davis; eight great-grandchildren, Rachel Kelley, Rosie Kelley, Jude York, Noah Carpenter, Ryan Carpenter, Hallee Davis, Ryker Davis and Gavin Davis; and a special friend, Janice Caldwell of Glenwood. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 10, 2013, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Bob Wiyott officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Bethsaida Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Carpenter, Trey York, Joseph Ford, Kris Kelley, Logan Davis and Chris Rice. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
